Solar-Powered Irrigation for Temple Lands

Pilot Project – Support Request Details

Adhira Trust has initiated a pilot project to maintain and support reclaimed, fragmented 30,000 sq. ft. unproductive temple punjai lands. This sacred initiative can now be further strengthened and expanded with your generous support towards the installation of solar panels.

A quotation amounting to ₹1,76,000 has been obtained for installing solar panels to enable drip irrigation during the summer months, ensuring proper watering and protection of the saplings.

In the first phase, the reclaimed lands of Arulmigu Meenakshi Sundreshwarar Temple, which is critically underfunded, have been taken up for support.

The Trust has transformed small pockets of temple land into productive green spaces through careful measurement, weeding, fencing, gating, borewell installation, and planting of timber tree saplings. Solar-powered irrigation will ensure long-term sustainability, reduce recurring costs, and protect temple lands from future neglect.
